Capacity and Catering

The complex which opened on February 2nd, 1970 – which was eight years after it’s construction commenced – originally housed a 483-seat Town hall and 863-seat theatre.

The Town Hall was given a new name to honor the memory of Canadian actress Jane Mallett in November 1984, used mostly for recitals, chamber concerts, public debates, stage and film presentations, but still a no-brainer for corporate hostings. There are also restaurants and bars within the venue. Other facilities include washrooms, a coat check and a lobby where there is a private lounge that can accommodate up to 30 guests. The features backstage include a production office and nine dressings that each have their own washrooms.

There is also a mirrored rehearsal hall which measures 1,200 sq ft with a sprung floor and piano, making it perfect for pre-show formalities. Accompanying the rehearsal room is a Green Room for cast relaxation.
